Use caution with the front door. If you have a balcony sliding door or window open the air moving through the unit can sometimes cause the front door to close forcefully.
Please keep the thermostat at 70 degrees or above during the summer. Closing the sliding glass as much as possible will help keep the interior comfortable. Please close the shades anytime you leave the condo.
The TVs are connected to cable [Channel Guide] and support your favorite streaming apps. You are welcome to log in with your own accounts if you like.
The Wi-Fi is free and fast. The login code provided in the room also works for the access point at the pool.
There are beach chairs and some other items in the closet near the main living area. Please keep them clean and return them to the closet when you are done.
The trash chute is in a closet about half-way to the elevators.
The Boardwalk Beach Resort is a secured, private property. Please remember to wear a wristband anytime you are outside the unit.
St. Andrews State Park
4607 State Park Lane
The park has so much going for it. It's only a short drive away, it's very affordable (only $8.00 per car), and it features natural terrain that gives you a glimpse of what this area
once looked like for hundreds of miles. We recommend the short yet very interesting nature trail (kid friendly) or snorkeling in the lagoon area (snorkel rentals available). The lagoon
is also a great place to play in the water when the double red flags are up or the Gulf is a bit too rough.
Conservation Park / Trails
100 Conservation Park
This area is a little bit of a drive to the West, but if you enjoy longer hikes or biking through pine forests and over preserved wetlands, this is worth your time.
There is ample parking and admission is free.
Russell-Fields City Pier
16201 Front Beach Road
The pier is a must visit. It is the longest pier anywhere on the Gulf and is right next to Pier Park which is full of shopping and dining choices. It's also a great place to fish since
a permit is only three dollars extra. Fishing equipment is not included but there are rental options in the area, or you can grab a simple rig at Walmart for around $30.
M.B. Miller County Pier
12213 Front Beach Road
Slightly smaller than the City Pier but still impressive, the County Pier also offers spectator and fishing passes. Parking can be easier here but there is a $2.00 per hour fee.
A bait and tackle store is on site where you can also rent fishing gear.
Shell Island
5709 N Lagoon Dr.
Shell Island is a miles long unihabited island running along the coast just East of St. Andrews State Park. The South side faces the Gulf while the North (back) side is sheltered from the
surf and offers a great place to play in the water and explore the shoreline. A shuttle service operates on a regular schedule seasonaly (link above). There are also a number
of excursions and private charter options available online.
Our tastes run toward the simpler outdoor attractions, but there are plenty of other things to see and do, see Trip Advisor Panama City Beach
Christo's Bar and Grill
2903 Navy Blvd. (Thomas Drive)
It's just a sports bar attached to a gas station. But it's
one of the best around with a lively vibe and some amazing eats.
Pretty much anything on the menu is superb and they keep the cold drinks coming. Our favorites are the Rueben "on Second", the Smokehouse Burger, the Thomas Drive Fish Tacos,
and the roasted Beet and Goat Cheese salad. But don't forget the wings, appetizers, and daily specials.
Dat Cajun Place
2705 Navy Blvd. (Thomas Drive)
A great place for some Louisiana favorites, it features a large bar with dozens of TVs and can get very busy on the weekends. Often features live music.
We enjoy the "Who Dat Rangoons", Shrimp Pontchartrain, and Shrimp Skewers, but it's hard to go wrong here.
Big Easy Restaurant & Bar
8744 Thomas Drive
As the name implies, this is a New Orleans style eatery. Most people contrast it with Dat Cajun Place since there is some overlap in the menu. The Big Easy is considerably smaller
with more of a traditional restaurant vibe and attentive service. The menu is more focused and portions are generous and reasonably priced. That said, we really enjoy both places.
The Deckhand Social
3901 Navy Blvd. (Thomas Drive)
Tucked away in the midst of the dock area, this is water-side bar and grill offering some nice up-scale dishes. We liked the Low Country Grouper and the Key West Mahi, but there is
a lot to pick from on their menu. We recommend sitting outside if possible.
Schooner's
5121 Gulf Drive
This is a classic beach bar, grill, and restaurant on steroids. Most would consider it a must-visit. We like the burgers, baskets, and tacos.
The smoked gouda cheese grits will blow your mind.
Runaway Island
14521 Front Beach Road
One of our go-to places on the beach, Runaway Island has a diverse menu with solid choices including the St. Charles Redfish and several different taco combinations.
They also have nice salads, desserts, and a really good $12 lunch special.
Wicked Wheel
10025 Hutchison Blvd
A local favorite with a biker vibe serving fried chicken, burgers, salads and more.
Pineapple Willy's
9875 South Thomas Drive
This one can feel a bit touristy, but they serve good food and offer that "party on the beach" vibe that you really need to experience. Offerings include Nachos, Fish Tacos,
and BBQ Ribs just to mention a few. The bar serves a wide range of beach themed drinks and there is often live music or something else going on during the season. And, it's close enough
to walk to from Boardwalk.
Sue's Thai Cafe
2725 Joan Ave
Operating out of a small trailer next to another restaurant, Sue's is not much to look at, but the food is authentic and among the best Thai we have tried anywhere.
They do have some basic outdoor seating, but we always bring ours back to the condo.
Shane's Rib Shack
10100 Hutchison Blvd
This is a chain restaurant with locations all around the South. As BBQ connoisseurs
we can say they do decent work at a very reasonable price. Their portions are generous and
their sauce is a classic southern recipe that works for us.
Tootsie's (Under Construction)
8795 Thomas Drive
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge is moving to the beach and a new building where Spinnaker Beach Club once stood. We mention it here since you can easily watch the progress from the east
windows or balcony. Tootsie's will be a short walk and promises great food, drinks, and the best live music experience on the beach.
Under the Boardwalk
Next to Swimming Pool
Under the Boardwalk is as close as you can get. Open seasonaly, they offer a good assortment of casual dining options at reasonable prices. The bar has a nice selection
of beach-side beverages and offers Happy-Hour specials.
Publix Deli
2419 Thomas Drive
11240 Panama City Beach Pkwy, Panama City Beach
Yes, it's just a grocery store deli, but it's a perfect solution for those evenings when you don't feel like going out OR cooking.
Publix has pre-cooked grab-and-go meals, deli sandwiches made to order, and a selection of baked goods including the best Key Lime pie value in Florida.
Walmart
10270 Front Beach Road
What can you say about Walmart? They've got almost everything you need and at a good price. Plus it's close enough to walk to in a pinch.
